New 18th man rule implemented in Intrust Super Cup

The Intrust Super Cup will introduce an 18th player activation rule from Round 3 (this weekend).

A club can activate an 18th player after 3 players from the same side have failed a HIA Test.

An 18th player can also be activated when a player suffers a match ending injury caused by foul play – and the perpetrator has been sin binned or sent off.

The new rule will be implemented from Round 3 of the Intrust Super Cup only and will be further monitored and adjusted if needed.
